Summary
Cloud 9 has a feature that employees can use to chat with one another, a group of employees, or to send a chat to All Employees. This is a basic chat function. Employees only see their own chats when logged into Cloud 9. Chats sent to "All Employees" will appear as multiple chats for one person at a time and the recipient can only reply with the user who originally sent the mass internal chat. The chat icon envelope will display a red dot when the internal chat is closed and a new one is received. (Screenshot below.)
Accessing the Chat Feature to Send a Chat
1. Users will click the Envelope Icon at the top right of the screen:
2. Clicking the Envelope Icon takes users to the following screen:
3. From here, users can create a New Chat by selecting the blue +New button. Clicking the +New button will pull up the following screen titled Create New Conversation :
4. Users can then select the Employee Name from the Drop Down menu, type the message, and then click Create:

Note: Each user will see their chat texts as Blue Text. Each user will see the other employees' chat text in Red.
NOTE: If you are not within the chat and receive a new chat, the chat icon, (an envelope on the Cloud 9 main screen), will display a red dot to let you know you have a new chat to view in Cloud 9.
Additional Note: If you ARE in the chat, and you are looking at a chat from one user, and another user chats you, the new user's name will appear in red, indicating you have a new chat to view. Screenshot below of what the new unread chat looks like when within the chat screen.
What about Group Chats? How do those work?
Users can select employees individually and send the same message to those selected, or users can select All. Recipients will only be able to reply directly to the sender. This does not function as a usual group chat, where each recipient can respond to everyone.

Conclusion
The employee chat feature is available for intraoffice use. This feature simple and easy to use for quick employee to employee chats. All chats auto-delete after 30 days and this feature is hard coded and cannot be changed.
