This article will review how to use the Employee Time Clock that is hard coded into Cloud 9. The following steps will walk you through clocking in and out in Cloud 9.
Log In
Log into Cloud 9 with your username and password. Ensure that you select the location where you will be punching the clock.
Click the Time Clock
Click the Time Clock icon in the icon tray in the top right corner of your Cloud 9 screen.
NOTE: The appearance and available icons on that tray may vary depending on individual user permissions but the Time Clock is always present.
Select The User
Depending on user permissions, you may be able to select another user when using the Time Clock. The currently logged-in user will not need to enter their password when punching the clock.
NOTE: While some permissions allow clocking in other users, their passwords will always be required. This is to prevent abuse and we strongly recommend against staff sharing passwords.
Select Punch Type
Select the type of punch. These can be customized by the practice in Edit > Setup > Time Clock Statuses.
The visual analog clock display will allow you to see exactly what time your punch will be recorded as when you click save.
If the wrong punch type is selected, an office manager or someone with the Time Clock permission can remove the incorrect punch and manually replace it, but employees cannot remove their own.
Verify Location and Notes
Location is based on the location you selected when logging into Cloud 9. This cannot be changed or edited in the Time Clock window. Verify the location before saving your punch; you can switch using the schedule view selector or by logging out and back into Cloud 9 to select a different location.
The Notes field is for any comments or notes you wish to include. These will be visible to the Time Clock Administrator.
Click Save
Click "Save," and your clock punch is complete.
NOTE: The time that will be recorded on the punch is the time you click the "Save" button, not the time you click the clock icon to begin.
