To access the Data Miners within your Cloud 9 Practice Management Software, go to the Reports section in the Blue Ribbon extending across the top of Cloud 9. Use the down arrow to select between Reports and Data Miners.
When you arrive at the Data Miner screen, it should look similar to this.
For an explanation of all of the buttons across the top of the Data Miner and what they do, please read this article: Data Miner Views and Filters
Of particular importance to you in this article is the Green Save button.
In the dropdown menu of this button, select either Save, or Save As.
Save is the option you should use if a report already has a name, but you have made minor changes to the report that you would like to keep. An example of this may be that you simply updated the date ranges used in the report.
Save As will capture all of the work you have done on this particular Data Miner and provide you with the opportunity to name the report. The name of this report will then be displayed in the Black Manila Folder icon when you need to access it in the future. The first time you save the Data Miner it should be as a Save As, so it can be titled.
Also, if you have altered a different Data Miner sufficiently that it has become a different report, use Save As to provide it a different name.
Run
The Run button is two buttons to the right of the Red button with the white x in it. It has Circling Arrows on it and says Run. This button is used to actually generate the report. This button is only used after you have selected the necessary views and filters. The selecting of this button starts the process of mining through those parameters you have selected in order to return the data that you have requested. The three buttons to the right of this button are greyed out until the run button is selected, and the report has returned results. At that time, the Print, Download, and Letters buttons are activated.
