Suggested Reading: Data Miner Views and Filters
The Data Miner does have the ability, when configured correctly, to return data that can be merged with a previously created document in the Document Editor. This Article will teach you how to do the necessary configuration to make that happen.
Using the example above, you can see that our View MUST be either the Patient Responsible Party Contact Info, or the Patient Contact Info in order to have access to the required views, which are Patient Global ID and Responsible Person Global ID. Whether you use a Patent Name, Responsible Name, or any other field, these two MUST be in the results in order for the Letter Queue Merge to work.
Once the report has been run, and results are displayed at the bottom of the screen, select the Queue Letters Icon at the top of the page.
The following screen will display:
From this screen select a document, Identify the Recipient Type (Responsible Party, Patient, or Doctor), and then select the Queue Icon.
Once that has been completed, go into your Letter Queue. In the field where you can filter the documents showing in the letter Queue, filter for the specific name of the Document from your Document Editor that you just merged your Data Miner Results into. In the example, that document is named Collection Email.
When you can see all of the recipients listed, select the box to the left of the Status column to select all recipients. This box is outlined in red on the screenshot below. Then select the merge button identified in the following screenshot with a green outline.
When the documents have been merged, and you have reviewed them for accuracy, select the email button to email each letter through your office email. If you want to print them and mail them, you also have that option from this screen, using the print button.
Once you have completed this process, and since the button was selected to store a copy in the patient's document cabinet, these letters can be deleted from the Letter Queue.
