Transaction Type charges can be added to Appointment Types so that a charge can automatically be posted to the patient's ledger. Follow the steps below to add a Transaction Type charge to an Appointment Type.
Step 1 Click Edit, Setup
Step 2 Click Appointment Types and click the Appointment Type you wish to add the Transaction Type charge to, then click edit
Step 3 Click the plus sign under Procedures
Use the drop down arrows to select the Appointment Status (Seated, Dismissed etc) to have the charge posted to the ledger, then select the Procedure (example, Broken Retainer) that has a charge amount assigned to. Click OK.
After you have completed setting this up, once the patient comes in and depending on the Appointment Status (usually Dismissed), then the charge will post to the patient's ledger automatically. The example below was setup to have the charge posted when the patient was dismissed.
