Summary
Both Templating and Searches are affected by Appointment Classes and Appointment Types.
An Appointment Type is what is scheduled for the patient.
An Appointment Class is a group of one or more Appointment Types.
Both Appointment Types and Appointment Classes can be used for Templating.
This article will provide steps on how to Add and Edit Appointment Classes, Appointment Types and adding them to the Schedule Template. There are two reports, one to see a list of Appointment Types and a report to see a list of Appointment Classes you may already have setup. Click on Reports select the following reports: Appointment Type Report and the Appointment Class Report.
Appointment Classes Setup
Step 1.- Go to Edit > Setup.
Step 2 – Select "Appointment Classes."
Step 3 – To Add an Appointment Class, click "+Add."
Step 4 – Enter "Code", "Description", "Minutes" and select "Background Color" for the Appointment Class creation. Next, select the applicable Appointment Type(s) for this Class by placing a checkmark in the box then click "Save."
NOTE: If there is not an Appointment Type added yet, it will not show on the list. You will need to follow the steps on how to Add an Appointment Type then come back and edit the Appointment Class.
Step 5 - To Edit the Appointment Classes, follow steps 1and 2 above, then click the check box on the "Appointment Class" you wish to edit, and click "Edit."
Step 6 - Select the desired Appointment Type(s) then click Save.
Appointment Type Setup
Step 1 - Go to Edit, Setup.
Step 2 - Select Appointment Types.
Step 3 – To add an Appointment Type, click "+Add."
Step 4 – Fill in required fields: Description, Code, and Minutes. Pick the applicable background color for the Appointment Type. In order to place the Appointment Type in the applicable Appointment Class, select the desired Appointment Class under the General tab.
NOTE: If there is not an Appointment Class added yet, it will not show on the list. You will need to follow the steps on how to Add an Appointment Class then come back and edit the Appointment Type.
Step 5 - To edit the Appointment Types, follow steps 1 and 2 above, then click on the Appointment Type you wish to edit, and click Edit.
Step 6 - Enter the desired information on this window. If an Appointment Class is desired, place a checkmark in the box next to the Appointment Class then click Save.
Schedule Template Setup
