Summary
This report lists the name, contact information, last appointment details, next visit information (from the last treatment card entry) for any patients who meet the below criteria. These patients are also displayed on the left side of the schedule.
• They are in a patient status that ‘Is Active’ in the Edit menu > Setup icon > Patient Statuses item.
• They do NOT have a future Appointment.
• They do NOT have a future recall date.
Report tip:
If a patient has an appointment the day the report is being run they will not appear on the report because they no longer have a future appointment. For this reason, some practices find it helpful to run the Patients Needing Appointment Report after they have finished seeing patients for the day.
Symptom: Too many patients are shown
This is likely caused by the patient statuses that are being used and their properties. Observation and Recall may be considered active for some, but most practices would consider these to be inactive.
Resolution Steps
Run the report
Copy the name of a listed patient and check the patient's status under Home > Edit-Patient > Tracking.
-
Now cross-reference the patient status properties under Edit > Setup > Patient Statuses > select a status > Edit.
-
Is "is active" or "is inactive" checked?
The report is looking for active statuses.
Are no properties checked? This can also cause issues. It should be active or inactive, leaving both blank will cause the report to not function properly.
