The Ortho Tooth Chart allows for the selection of either primary or permanent teeth, along with the tooth numbering system utilized by your office. It facilitates the printing or emailing of a document that includes the completed Ortho Tooth Chart. This chart can indicate teeth designated for extractions to be sent to the Oral Surgeon, or it can specify the presence of elastics for patients, providing them with a reference for proper elastic placement at home.

You will learn how mark selected teeth on the Ortho Tooth Chart, to merge the extraction or elastic document for a patient, as well as how to print or email the document. Additionally, the instructions will detail how to create an elastic tooth chart or extraction tooth chart document if one is not already available.
Ortho Tooth Chart Menu Bar
The first tab is + Elastics; selecting this tab will allow you to add elastics to the Ortho Tooth Chart.
The next tab is represented by a tooth icon. By using the dropdown menu, you can access options that enable you to make your desired choice.
The next dropdown menu displays the various tooth numbering systems: Universal, Palmer, and International.
The print icon will allow you to print the Ortho Tooth Chart.
Steps to Mark Teeth for Extraction
Step 1: Please select the patient, click on the dropdown arrow for the patient menu, and choose "Ortho Tooth Chart."
Step 2: Please click on the tooth or teeth to select them; the selected areas will be highlighted in yellow. After selecting the teeth you wish to mark for extraction, please use the dropdown arrow on the tooth icon and choose the option to "Toggle Selected as Extracted\Not Extracted."
Step 3: Once you select "Toggle" to mark the teeth as extracted, a red 'X' will appear on the designated tooth or teeth.
Please click "Save." Afterward, navigate to the letters section from the patient menu or letter queue and select the extraction letter. When you merge it, the tooth chart displaying the selected teeth will be visible.
If you have inadvertently selected the wrong teeth, you can correct this by clicking on the incorrect tooth to remove the "X" designation. Then, navigate to the tooth icon and select "Toggle Selected as Extracted/Not Extracted" to eliminate the "X.
Step 4: To email or print the extraction letter, please navigate to the patient section and select either "Send Letter" or go to the "Letter Queue." Choose the extraction letter you wish to process, then proceed to merge the letter. Finally, select either the email or print icon to complete the action.
Using Send Letter from patient:
Emailing or printing when adding document to Letter Queue:
In Letter Queue, please click Add.
Step 1: Click Add.
Step 2: Select the patient, recipient, the document (extraction letter), and input the email address to which the letter will be sent.
Step 3 Select the letter by clicking in the box on the line for the patient with the extraction letter. Click the merge icon the letter will open.
Step 4 Once the document has been merged, please choose either the email or print option.
To create a tooth chart document for elastics or extractions. There are two different merge fields: one for the elastics merge field and another for extractions merge field.
Step 1: Click on Home, select Document Editor.
Step 2: Please click on "New" to access a menu that presents various document options. Then, select "New Letter”.
Step 3: Upon selecting "New Letter," a blank document will be generated for you to compose the elastic document.
Step 4: Input the main content of the letter. To include merge fields for the date and patient name, please click on the Merge Fields icon. For the date, choose the General icon and select the appropriate date merge field. For the patient's name, click on the Patient icon and select the merge field format that you prefer for displaying the patient's name.
Step 5: After you select the Merge Field icon this is the menu bar you will see. Click General to select the date merge field.
Step 6: Please select the Patient icon to choose your preferred display options for the patient's name.
Step 7: Once you have finished composing the body of the letter, you may insert the Elastics merge field by clicking on the General icon, selecting Images, and then choosing the Image Tooth Chart Elastics. After the letter is complete, please click "Save As" and assign a title to the document.
Steps to add Elastics
Step 1: To add elastics, please open the Ortho Tooth Chart. Select the first tooth where the elastics should be applied, then click on the second tooth. Both teeth will be highlighted. Next, click on "+ Elastics," and you will see a line connecting the two selected teeth. Please note that you can only select elastics one side at a time.
Step 2: is to click on the "+ Elastic" tab. You will then observe a line connecting each selected tooth.
Step 3: To add elastics to the other side please click on the teeth where the elastics should be placed; the selected teeth will be highlighted.
Step 4: Click on the "+ Elastic" tab. You will then observe a line connecting each selected tooth.
If you discover that the incorrect teeth have been selected, you can remove the highlighted selection by clicking on the Delete tab for the side you wish to remove the elastics. The Delete is shown at the bottom of the Ortho Tooth Chart.
The elastics for the selected teeth have now been removed.
