Summary
You have the option to print or email a Statement for a specific patient directly from the ledger. This article provides guidance on how to print or email a Statement for a particular patient from their ledger. There are multiple Statement Layouts to select from.
NOTE: You cannot print an insurance statement.
Statement Layouts
There are multiple options of Statement Layouts to choose from. You can find the examples by going to Help on the menu bar, select Documentation.
Scroll to find the category Financial, then select Statement Layouts. You will be able to select the Statement Form Type from the Generate Statements window.
Steps to configure a default Statement Layout Form Type
Step 1: Click Edit, select Practice Information
The Practice Information window will open.
Step 2: Click on Forms

After clicking on Forms, the window shown below is displayed
Step 3: Select the Form Type from the drop down. There will be multiple options to select from. Then Save and Close.
How to print or email a Statement for a patient's ledger
Step 1: Please access the patient financial ledger.
Step 2: Click the Print icon down arrow to select Statement.
Step 3: The window for selecting Statement parameters will be presented. This Statement parameters window provides fewer options than the Statement Queue window, as it relates specifically to the ledger of an individual patient, rather than a group of patients, for selected parameters.
Settings
Code - This will display the ADA Code that was used on the contract.
Mark as Printed on Ledger - This will display a note on the ledger that a Statement was printed, if selected.
Show Adjustments - This will show any adjustments that were posted to the patient ledger.
Exclude Other Patients - If there are family members who are patients associated with the patient's account, selecting "Exclude Other Patients" will result in their information not being displayed on the statement.
Locations/Providers to Include - This allows you to select the location(s) and provider(s) you would like to include in the system's criteria.
Transactions to Include - This provides you with various options for how the account can be displayed.
Statement Information
Statement Form Type - This is the Statement Layout; you do not need to select a Statement Form when printing/sending from the ledger. The Statement Form when printing/sending from the ledger is defaulted.
Statement Due Date - This allows you to select a Custom Date or Contract Charge Date.
Practice Location - This enables you to choose the Practice Location that you would like the Practice Name, Address and Phone Number to display on the statements.
Print Credit Card Box - This provides the recipient with the opportunity to enter their credit card information if they choose to submit payment by mail.
Statement Messages
Once you have entered the necessary parameters for the statement you wish to generate, please click on the "Print" button. From here you can print the statement, or if you wish to email this statement click "Cancel". The statement will be displayed on the screen, from here you can click the "Email Report" icon.
To Print a Statement from the patient ledger, click Print
To email the Statement from the patient ledger, please click on the Print option. When the printer window appears, select Cancel. The Statement will then be displayed, at which point you can click the Send Report icon to email the Statement.
The subsequent window will present options for selecting email recipients, entering subject line and message, then click send.
