In the treatment card entry section, it is advantageous to have pre-populated notes available on the right-hand side for easy selection of common entries, rather than typing them out repeatedly. This article will guide you through the process of adding new pre-populated notes (often referred to as 'quick treatment notes') and editing any existing ones.
Before you begin, please ensure you are familiar with the process of adding treatment card entries and notes.
To add the pre-populated treatment notes, you will first need to identify the specific label used for this field on the treatment card. Typically, it will be labeled as 'Treatment Notes' or simply 'Notes.'
You can determine this by accessing the treatment card for a patient, initiating a new entry, and examining the notes section. In the example provided, this section is labeled 'Notes.' In some cases, you may encounter the labels 'Treatment Notes' or 'TX Notes.' Make note of that name.
Proceed to the 'Edit' menu, then select 'Setup' and choose 'Treatment Cards' from the left-hand side. Identify the treatment card you wish to modify, and click the 'Edit' button. In the 'Edit Treatment Card' window, you will find a list of columns. Locate the column that matches your specification, select it, and then click 'Edit'.
You will now see an 'Edit Columns' window featuring an option for 'List Items.' These items represent your pre-populated notes. To modify an existing note, please select it and click 'Edit.' Alternatively, you can click 'New' to create a new note. When adding a new note, it is important to complete the fields for 'Order,' 'Label,' and 'Text.'
Order: This field determines the display sequence of the note within the list. It is advisable to space the order by increments of 5 rather than using a consecutive numbering system like 1, 2, 3, etc. This approach allows for the easy insertion of new notes among existing ones without the need to renumber all entries.
Label: This is the concise label that will appear in the list on the right-hand side of the notes section. It should be descriptive yet succinct to maintain an organized list.
Text: This section will contain the details that will appear when you select the corresponding label on the right-hand side. Here, you have the freedom to be more descriptive and elaborate, as this information will not be visible in the list on the right but will be included in the note on the treatment card entry.
Select the blue OK button upon completing each new note. Additionally, remember to save your work using the green save button when you return to the edit columns page.
You are now prepared to efficiently enter and update the pre-populated notes, saving valuable time when documenting treatment card notes.
